Who We Are

Oregon Trail Racing is a support network for racers of Northeast Oregon and other regions surrounding the Oregon Trail. This area of the United States is challenging for racer development due to harsh winters, few training partners, and a lack of nearby races. This organization provides a framework for bringing people together and improving performance. Furthermore, the organization encourages and supports non-race fitness activities by coordinating social  events and providing useful information. The organization has launched its first phase of developing bicycle and triathlon racing in Northeast Oregon. Recruitment of participants is underway--anyone can join.

Racer Expectations

  • Anyone can join, nothing is mandatory.
  • Pay deposit for 1 jersey: This is fulfilled after 5 races and money is returned.
  • Optional extra jersey's, skinsuits, caps, etc. sold at cost.
  • Uniform: team jersey & black shorts. Suggested: yellow or black helmet, black accessories (arm warmers, knee warmers, gloves, skullcaps).
  • Participation in team race training and field testing is recommended.
  • Participation in local events encouraged - 3 Rivers Race, Solstice Tri, etc.
  • Submit timely race reports for website.
  • Abide by code of conduct: be honest, be respectful, do good.

Uniform

Yellow over black is the color scheme for Oregon Trail Racing's new uniform. The jersey features a brown line representing the actual route of the Oregon Trail from Independence, Missouri to Oregon City, Oregon.  Brown and gray rings accent the collar and sleeves. The jersey back displays the main sponsors of the team, bike shops from three major cities in Northeast Oregon: The Mountain Works (La Grande), Flagstaff Sports (Baker City), and Scott's Cycle & Sports (Hermiston). The tops are designed to be worn with black shorts and accessories, although custom accessories are available. Cycling and triathlon apparel may now be ordered.
